Bonnaroo, Week of June 13th

What a killer weekend in Tennessee.  My first Bonnaroo experience and it was wonderful.  I performed with the Band of Heathens on Thursday night and had the rest of the weekend open to take in a whole lot of great music.   I mean it was an adult sized portion of great music!  My Morning Jacket, Arcade Fire, Mavis, Bruce Hornsby, Gregg Allman, Dr. John, Allen Toussaint, Ray LaMontagne, Old Crow, Hayes Carll, Gogol Bordello, Panic…all were amazing.  Representing the ATX, Gary Clark Jr. absolutely blew everybody’s ass off at the On Tap Lounge on Saturday afternoon!  Maybe the highlight of the weekend for me.

I’m in Nashville tonight to see Mike Henderson at the Blue Bird so my weekly recommendation this week is anything by Mike Henderson and the Bluebloods.  Check out First Blood with Reese Wynans absolutely wearing out the piano.  Thicker Than Water with John Barlow Jarvis is killer too.

Here are some pics from Bonnaroo
