Week of August 8

This past Friday Gordy and I had the chance to stop by our old stomping grounds of Hanover, NH on our way from Burlington to Northhampton, MA. Brian Mann, close friend and former teammate, is now the director of football operations at Dartmouth and gave us a full tour of the new facilities. It had been almost 7 years since I had been up there…plenty of nostalgia as you might imagine!

On the road from Philly to Washington, DC today. What a great tour this has been.

This week, check out Jeff Little, a well-kept secret from Boone, NC but one of the finest bluegrass piano players around. You might be thinking, ‘bluegrass piano?’ Jeff came up under the wing of Doc Watson, who is legendary for his renderings of classic fiddle tunes on guitar.  Jeff Little does the same thing, except on piano.  Some blistering hot licks here.

Not sure if his music is on itunes…I bought all his records directly from him the old-fashioned way, by mailing a check to his personal P.O. Box. He sent me a nice thank you note along with the cds. Pretty cool!
