Great times at the oldest dance hall in Texas this past Sunday night. What an amazing crowd.
It’s damn hot here in the heart of Texas. With that being said, Hotter Than July by Stevie Wonder, definitely worth getting into. “Do Like You”, “Cash In Your Face”, “Master Blaster” all classic tracks.
Also been enjoying a couple records by Ray Charles: Crying Time from 1966 and Love Country Style from 1973. Crying Time has the definitive version of “Let’s Go Get Stoned”. Brother Ray at the top of his game. Billy Preston on the Hammond, sprinkling flavor crystals around…nice! Love Country Style has a great take of Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire” and a song that will melt anybody with a pulse, “Show Me The Sunshine”.
