Next Waltz Vol. 3, Jesse Noah Wilson

Hey now! Been awhile, hope you’re well and thanks for checking up on me here.

Some great news to share…the Next Waltz’s latest compilation (volume 3) has reached #1 at Americana Radio.  I believe that’s two in a row as last year’s release (volume 2) held the top spot for a few weeks as well.  It’s an honor to be part of Bruce Robison’s scene out there at The Bunker recording studios.  One reason why these records do well in my opinion is the honest, stripped down way in which they are made.  There are no computers at this studio, only an old 16 channel console (that never is working 100%) a tape machine and some beautiful old tube mics.  In all the years I’ve worked out there I don’t think I’ve ever done an overdub or gone back to fix something after a take.  Bruce likes things to be as human as possible–performed live and direct from the heart.  I’m on 5 of the 10 tracks on this record, 2 of which are songs by the great Bobby Charles.   Here are the videos for those.

Also here is some other cool music to share…my buddy and bandmate in BOH, Jesse Noah Wilson, just released an EP of Harry Nilsson tunes, entitled “Wilson Sings Schmilsson”.  It is beautiful recorded and mixed by Jesse with some remote contributions from a few friends.  I play piano on “Nobody Cares About The Railroads Anymore” and some ARP synths on “Me and My Arrow”.  Jesse is an incredible talent and a sweet sweet guy.  I highly recommend checking out this record.  It’s a mood booster.  You can find it only at bandcamp.

Peace be with you and yours!  Stay well
